The three-day conference in Kuala Lumpur saw over 280 telecom operators, analysts and vendors counterparts from 102 companies and 23 countries/regions convene at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
In his opening keynote address, Ron Rensick, Chairman and President of WiMAX Forum laid out his vision for the growth of WiMAX in Southeast Asia region and the role WiMAX will play in the delivery of ubiquitous broadband services. The CEOs of Malaysia’s two largest WiMAX operators, Wing Lee of YTL and Michael Lai of Packet One, presented their companies’ future plans and discussed the evolution of WiMAX in Malaysia. Representatives from two of the biggest WiMAX vendors, Garth Collier of Intel and Dr. Hung Song of Samsung, covered the latest WiMAX chipset developments and updated delegates on the commercialisation of 802.16m.
Featuring 30 presentations and panel discussions, the WiMAX Forum Southeast Asia Regional Focus 2010 finished with a gala dinner, hosted by YTL, rounding off the event with a night full of laughter, good food and excellent networking.
